The Alpenrösli is situated in beautiful Giswiler Kleinteil and has a lively 100-year history filled with many highlights.
In the summer of 1895 Simon Bucher bought the economy Alpenrösli. Simon was the great grandfather of today’s owner Barbara Vidoni-Berchtold. Simon founded the small inn Alpenrösli, which grew into a family tradition.
Bucher ran the restaurant until 1939, when he sold it to Lina Berchtold-Bucher. For thirty years Lina and her husband Bernhard Berchtold-Bucher took care of Alpenrösli's guests. From 1969 until 1993 Benny and Gustel Berchtold–Armbruster managed the Alpenrösli. Benny and Augusta expanded the hotel's infrastructure, making the Alpenrösli what it is today.
Nowadays the hotel is managed and owned by the family's fourth generation, Barbara Vidoni-Berchtold. In the spring of 2001 the Alpenrösli received a face lift. The restaurant was reconditioned and two beautiful seminar rooms with ISDN connection were built. The new spacious sun terrace with a stunning view over the lake and the mountains can host 75 persons. Two bowling alleys and a bar is also available for your enjoyment.
With the help of our friend and artist Robi Ottiger a paradise for body and soul was created - a spa with swimming pool, mental and earth saunas, single whirlpools, a eucalyptus steam bath, experience showers, foot bath and solarium. Everyone is welcome at our wellness spa.
When the Alpenrösli was built, it was unimaginable that it would grow to what it is today. When you see the building it is even harder to believe that it dates from the 17th century. A picture taken in 1915 shows the wooden building with the inn at the first floor and a food store on ground floor.
